COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M softball team started the fall season at the Aggie Softball Complex with a 13-3 victory over Blinn College after playing 10 consecutive innings.

The Aggies made their debut with 19 hits in the evening. Junior Cali Lanphear, sophomore Suzanne White and freshman Tori Vidales each contributed with two-run home runs.

Sophomore Abby Donnell scored the Aggies' first run of the game after stealing to second base and running in on a fly ball to center field by junior Cali Lanphear in the bottom of the first.

Vidales stealthily followed with the first double home run of the season- clear through left field. Lanphear scored along with her promptly after stealing second.

The freshman La Porte native continued to mark the scoreboard with another hit in the second and a run thanks to a double hit by freshman companion Erin Houthoofd. Rounding out the ninth, she stepped in with a repeat performance hitting a single and coming home on a single swing, sharp double by sophomore Reagan Boenker which grazed center fielder's tresses.

After walking in the start of the second, senior Brittany Clopton came in for a run in the bottom with sophomore April Ryan obtaining her first run for the season. Ryan would prove to keep the heat up as she snuck home in the same inning and joined Lanphear in her seventh inning hit out of the park.

Junior Alex Masek added to the excitement with the only run in the third from a line drive, bringing in Boenker.

The Aggies plated three runs in the first, two in the fourth and one in the fifth before the  teams went through the next three innings with no action before Blinn posted on the board for the first time in the game with a power-hitting home run to left field making it an 8-1 lead for A&M.

Junior Brenna Dozier had a single in the first as did freshman Kristen Cuyos in the ninth as well as sophomore Celena Massey had a double-base hit in the sixth, but neither of the three scored.

The Aggies quickly plated four runs in the bottom of the seventh brought upon by Lanphear's and White's two-run homers. This bursted them up to a 12-1 lead.

In the top of the ninth, Buccaneers gained 2 RBI on an error, making the score 3-12.

Rounding out the ninth, Aggies responded with Vidales stepping in with a repeat performance hitting a single and coming home on a single swing, sharp double by Boenker which grazed center fielder's tresses.
