COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Texas A&M junior middle blocker Shelby Sullivan has been named to the 2014 Capital One Academic All-District Volleyball Second Team for District 7, the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced today.
Sullivan, a marketing major from Richardson Texas, has helped direct A&M to a 15-7 overall record, including a 7-4 mark in Southeastern Conference matches. She currently is ranked in the top five in the league in hitting percentage (.378) and in the top 11 in kills (2.95), blocks (1.05) and points (3.65) per set.

As a sophomore, Sullivan earned AVCA All-South Region Honorable Mention accolades, was named to the All-SEC team and was a member of the Fall SEC Academic Honor Roll.
The Academic All-District 7 Team, consisting of six members on the first team and six on the second team, was selected by members of CoSIDA in the district, which encompasses the states of Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas and Wyoming. To be eligible for nomination for academic all-district honors, student-athletes must be a starter or key reserve playing in at least 50 percent of their team's scheduled contests, have at least a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average and have achieved at least sophomore status.
