COLLEGE STATION- No. 5 Texas A&M hosts defending NAIA National Champion, and the top-ranked team of that Association, Oklahoma City at 7 p.m. Saturday inside Reed Arena for a women's basketball exhibition game. The Aggies are looking for their seventh straight win in exhibitions, dating back to 2007.
The game is the first broadcast of Texas A&M women's basketball on SEC Network +, only on WatchESPN. The game is available through participating TV providers. Mike Wright and Tap Bentz have the call on SEC Network +.
Fans can also tune into ZoneHD 95.1-3 to listen to the game in the Bryan-College Station area, with Bret Dark and Sydney Colson providing the commentary.
The Aggies return 83% of their scoring from a team that went 27-9 and reached the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament in 2014. The Aggies have three Preseason All-Americans--juniors Jordan Jones, Courtney Walker and Courtney Williams.
A&M has won six straight exhibition games, and 10 of their last 11 exhibition games, with their lone loss in that span coming to the United States National Team in 2007. The Aggies and Stars have faced off three times in exhibition play since 2009, with the Aggies taking all three contests.
After the exhibition, the Aggies hit the road to the Maggie Dixon Classic in Chicago, Ill., where they tip off the regular season at No. 18 DePaul. The rematch of a 2014 Sweet 16 game is the third time in six years the Aggies have opened with a ranked game. Tip for that game is set for 6:30 p.m., with coverage on the Big East Digital Network, available through the Fox Sports GO app.
The Aggies' regular season home opener is Nov. 19 at 7 p.m., when they host former Southwest Conference foe Rice.
