COLLEGE STATION—Texas A&M head softball coach Jo Evans announced the signing of five outstanding softball players to national letters of intent on Wednesday, Nov. 12.
“I am very excited about our 2015 recruiting class,” Evans said. “This group is very athletic and very versatile. Every one of these athletes has the ability to play numerous positions which will help add depth to our squad.”
“This group not only excels on the diamond, but they compete at a very high level in the classroom as well. It is one of the most high-achieving academic and athletic classes we have signed in my time at Texas A&M.”
“This 2015 class has been verbally committed to our program for years and they have held true to that commitment. They have a great understanding of what it means to be an Aggie and they have already established themselves as valued members of our Aggie softball family. I have no doubt this class will contribute immediately to our program and make significant contributions, both on and off of the field of play.”

Kaitlyn Alderink INF 5-5 L/R Keller, TX (Keller)
Kaitlyn started her high school career at Faith Christian High School in Grapevine and was a starter on the varsity squad as a freshman. She batted leadoff and played second base and helped the squad win the TAPPS 4A State Championship and Alderink was named All-Tournament at the State Championships. She played at Keller High School as a sophomore and junior starting both seasons. As a sophomore, she helped the squad reached the Region 1 semifinals as area champions. Kaitlyn was named TGCA 5A All-State and was the District 4-5A Newcomer of the Year and earned District 4-5A Academic All-District honors as well as being named second-team infielder in the Dallas Morning News All-Area squad. As a junior, Alderink helped lead the team to the Region 1 quarterfinals as area champions. Kaitlyn was named the Offensive MVP of her team at Keller. She earned first-team All-District honors in District 4-5A as well as earning Academic All-District accolades. She was named to the Dallas/Ft. Worth Fastpitch All-Metroplex team as an infielder, named to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram Softball Super Team as an infielder and was tabbed second-team All-Area infielder by the Dallas Morning News. In 2014, she batted .487 which is fourth all-time in Keller High School history and she hit .471 as a sophomore which placed her sixth on the all-time list. She had totaled 54 runs scored which is second all-time. She will play with Impact Gold Jackson club team, she played for Mizuno Impulse Gold team in 2014 hitting .600 and hit .500 in 2013 helping the team finished ninth at the ASA Gold Nationals. No stranger to winning, she played for Mizuno Impulse 16U in 2012 hitting .478 and helping the team finished third at the PGF 16U Nationals. She is currently ranked in the top three percent of her graduating class and was a Class of 2015 National Merit Commended Award winner as well as a 2014 Advanced Placement Scholar Award. Has taken part in community projects with World Vision Artists Association volunteering her time to help obtain child sponsorships in third world countries at concert events. She has participated in Kids Matter Around the Block—helping underprivileged families with children shop for clothing and with donations at Christmas. A selfless servant, she volunteers her time at church as well. Ranked #20 in the Full Count Softball “Hot 100 2015 Softball Recruits” and was a first-team All-American performer in 2014.
“Kaitlyn can play every defensive position. She is a savvy ballplayer, understated, with great tools on offense and defense. A lefty hitter who can drive the ball in the gap, she can lay down a bunt, or slap hit an infield single. She plays the game with confidence and leads by example. Kaitlyn is a student of the game and will make the players around her better. Morgan Herzog OF 5-2 L/R Missouri City, TX (Ridge Point)
Morgan has played varsity softball all three years at Ridge Point High School in Missouri City, Texas. As a freshman, she started and led the team in batting average and doubles while earning All-District Newcomer of the Year honors. She helped her team finished as district runnerup and went on to reach the regional quarterfinals in 2012. As a sophomore, Morgan helped lead the team to the district championship and was the regional semifinal champions. Morgan earned Academic Excellence honors in 2012 and 2013 and has been named an Academic All-District performer all three years in 2012, 2013 and 2014. This past spring, Morgan was a first-team All-District outfielder and catcher while helping the team with the district crown once again and advance to the area championships. In 2013-14, she played with the Aces Express. She is currently playing for the Texas Bombers Gold squad. In 2012, she helped the Impact Gold squad place second at the ASA while the squad placed third at the Colorado Fireworks and fifth at the Triple Crown National Tournament.
“Morgan will add much needed speed to our lineup. She is a lefty slap hitter who does a nice job with the short game. She is smart and quick on the base paths and is adept at moving runners. She is capable of playing all three outfield positions and covers a great deal of ground with her speed. Keeli Milligan INF/OF 5-1 L/R Vidor, TX (Vidor)
Keeli is a two-sport standout at Vidor High School playing varsity volleyball and softball as a freshman. She was named the Co-Newcomer of the Year on the softball diamond for district 20-4A as a freshman and earned Offensive MVP honors from her team as both a freshman and a sophomore. As a sophomore, she was named first-team All-District 20-4A and then as a junior was the district MVP in softball. The media outlet KOGT selected her as the MVP of the All-KOGT.com squad and was the All Vype SETX MVP. The Orange Leader newspaper named her to the All-Leader softball team and she was a Super Gold Softball team selection for the Beaumont Enterprise. She is listed as a pre-season All-American for the Softball Factory Under Armour team and was selected as a top performer at the games. She spent two seasons with the Gold Team, Hit Away. She is currently playing select softball for the Impact Gold-Jackson out of Spring, Texas. She is a honor roll student who has received the Award of Excellence in History and English and will graduate as a Distinguished Graduate in 2015. She participates in Youth Leadership of Southeast Texas and is one of only four students chosen to represent her school for this leadership program which is headed up by Lamar University.

Riley Sartain INF/OF 5-7 R/R Aledo, TX (Aledo)
Riley began her high school career at Trinity Valley School and earned team Offensive and Defensive MVP honors as a freshman and named Newcomer of the Year as well as earning Fort Worth Star-Telegram All-Area accolades. She was named to the All-Conference team as a frosh and repeated the exact same honors as a sophomore. In addition her sophomore year she hit .733 which led the DFW area and had a .825 on-base percentage and a 1.659 slugging percentage. She led the conference in pitching as well going 15-1 in the circle with a 1.03 ERA and set a school record with 123 strikeouts. She hurled six no-hitters during the season and in one conference game hit for the cycle as well as hurling a no-hitter. In 2014, she played for the Aledo Ladycats and helped the team win the Class 4A State Championship. Riley was named All-State by the Texas Sports Writers Association and earned All-Tournament honors at the state championships. She was named to the DFW Fastpitch All-DFW Metroplex team and was tabbed by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram All-Area team selection for the third straight year. Ranked No. 38 among the Top 100 national players according to StudentSports.com. As a junior she hit .786 and led the team and district in homeruns as well. She currently plays for the Impact Gold and previously played for the Mizuno Impulse and helped the team place third in the 16U PGF division and ninth in the 18U ASA Gold Division. A National Honor Society member she has been named an AP Scholar with Honor and will have over 30 hours of course credit when she enrolls at Texas A&M next fall. She was tabbed an NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete and was selected for the Duke University Talent Identification Program (TIP) for gifted students. She volunteers her time at the Tarrant County Food Bank and is active in Fort Worth Young Life. She also volunteers at a veterinary clinic and devotes time to helping instruct youngsters in softball.

Samantha Show P/INF 6-0 R/R East Bernard, TX (East Bernard)
Samantha broke into the starting lineup as a freshman at Pearland High School pitching, playing first base as well as third base. She helped the team win a district co-championship and reached the Region III finals. She was the Pearland Newcomer of the Year and earned first-team All-District 24-5A honors in addition to being named the District's Newcomer of the Year. She earned TXSWA All-State honorable mention accolades as well as NFCA South Central All-Region honors as a first-team selection. Samantha was a second-team NFCA All-American as a freshman. Her sophomore year she was named the Texas Gatorade Player of the Year and the award recognizes not only outstanding athletic excellence, but also high standards of academic achievement and exemplary character demonstrated on and off of the field of play. Samantha earned Texas Sports Writers Association All-State honors and was tabbed a first-team All-American by the NFCA. She helped lead her team to the district title and she was selected as the district MVP and earned first-team All-Greater Houston honors. She posted a 36-4 record in the circle to go along with a 0.65 ERA to help the team. Show struck out 357 batters and allowed just 47 hits and 61 walks in 183 innings of work. At the plate, she batted .447 with nine homeruns, 16 doubles, 68 RBI and recorded an .877 slugging percentage. As a junior at East Bernard High School, Show was named first-team All-State by the Texas Sports Writers Association as she helped the team finished second in the state championships. Samantha was named the district MVP and she also played for the Texas Aces Express where she helped the team win the Triple Crown State Championship.
“Sam is one of the top pitching prospects in the country. She is an exceptional athlete and is equally talented on the mound and at the plate. She plays first base when she is not pitching and handles that duty extremely well. She comes with the same skill set as Amanda Scarborough and Megan Gibson. Sam is a tremendous hitter with homerun power.
