Lambo named to Academic All-District team
Nov 13, 2014 | Football
A great example of a student-athlete, Texas A&M senior placekicker Josh Lambo was named to the 2014 Capital One Academic All-District Football Team. As a first-team all-district selection, he becomes a candidate to earn Academic All-America honors.
Lambo, from Middleton, Wisc., has connected on over 97.0 percent of all his placekicks in 2014, but his performance in the classroom might even be more impressive. Lambo, who is set to graduate in December, has compiled an impressive 3.8 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) while pursuing a double major in Agricultural Leadership and Development and Renewable Natural Resources.
Lambo was named to the Southeastern Conference Honor Roll in 2013-14 and has been named to the Texas A&M Dean's List twice. He was also named Texas A&M's Fellowship of Christian Athletes Student-Athlete of the Year in 2014. After completing his undergraduate studies, Lambo's post-graduate study plans include Ecosystem Science and Management.
On the field, Lambo has been successful on 9-of-11 field goal attempts and 48-of-48 extra point tries. Going into this Saturday's showdown with Missouri, Lambo needs two more successful extra point attempts to become the second player in Texas A&M history with 100 consecutive extra points. For his career, Lambo has hit 17-of-21 field goals and 100-of-101 extra points.
