Texas A&M trio competes at Central American & Caribbean Games

Representing Texas A&M in Veracruz are senior Liliana Ibanez (Celaya, Mexico) and Esther Gonzalez (Torreon, Mexico) from the women's team and freshmen Mauro Castillo (Zacatecas, Mexico) from the men's squad

VERACRUZ, Mexico – A trio of Texas A&M swimmers will compete in the 2014 Central American and Caribbean Games Saturday through Thursday at the Leyes de Reforma Aquatic Center.

Representing Texas A&M in Veracruz are senior Liliana Ibanez (Celaya, Mexico) and Esther Gonzalez (Torreon, Mexico) from the women's team and freshmen Mauro Castillo (Zacatecas, Mexico) from the men's squad. Ibanez will compete in 50, 100 and 200 free and the 50 and 100 fly. Gonzalez will compete in the 200 breaststroke and Castillo will race in the 50, 100 and 200 breast.

The Central American and Caribbean Games are contested every four years and are for swimmers from Central America, the Carribean, Mexico, Bermuda and the South American countries of Surinam, Guyana, Colombia and Venezuela.
