
Aggies Ink Top 10 Recruiting Class

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The Texas A&M Baseball program received certification on National Letters of Intent and appropriate paperwork for 12 newcomers for the 2016 season, including 11 of the top high school student-athletes in the nation head coach Rob Childress announced on Monday.
"Coach (Justin) Seely, our recruiting coordinator, continues to do an incredible job of putting together extremely talented classes and Coach (Will) Bolt has come in and really meshed well in the process," Childress said. "These 12 guys include special arms and some really good hitters who should make an immediate impact on the field competing in the SEC. They also possess great character and will make a difference off the field during their time at Texas A&M."
Ten of the 12 players hail from the state of Texas, including RHP Beau Burrows (Weatherford/Weatherford HS); INF Alan Campero (Laredo/Laredo Alexander HS); RHP Tyler Ivey (Rockwall/Rockwall Heath HS); INF George Janca (Georgetown/Georgetown HS); OF Trey Jimmerson (Tomball/Concordia Lutheran HS); RHP Stephen Kolek (Shepherd/Shepherd HS); INF Tristan Metten (Plano/Prestonwood Academy HS); RHP Chris Paddack (Cedar Park/Cedar Park HS); OF Coll Stanley (Houston/Strake Jesuit HS); and RHP Nash Walters (Lindale/Lindale HS).
The Aggies also secured Oklahoma native INF Joel Davis (Midwest City/Midwest City HS), a junior college transfer who has played one season at Seminole State College in Oklahoma and Indiana prep standout Ashe Russell (Indianapolis/Cathedral Catholic).
The class includes 10 high school players ranked among the Perfect Game USA Top 500, including four in the top 200. The group includes Russell (5th), Burrows (6th), Kolek (169th), Ivey (194th), Walters (207th), Paddack (219th), Metten (252nd), Janca, Stanley and Campero.
Texas A&M opens its 2014 season on Feb. 13-15 when the Aggies host Holy Cross at Blue Bell Park for a three-game series.

Joel Davis – INF – Midwest City, Oklahoma (Midwest City HS/Seminole JC)
· Played for Lloyd Simmons at Seminole State College as a freshman in 2014
· Batted .384 with 56 runs, 16 doubles, one triple, 13 home runs and 57 RBI in 52 games as a freshman
· Hit .451 with five home runs and 36 RBI as a senior at Midwest City HS in 2013 to earn Oklahoma Coaches Association Large West All-Oklahoma, OCA All-Region 8 and Big All-City First Team from The Oklahoman
· Was a teammate of Hunter Melton with the Sanford River Rats of the Florida Collegiate Summer League in 2014, hitting .300 with three doubles, two home runs and 20 RBI in 34 games

Tyler's stuff is good enough to pitch right away. When he learns to hold the running game and field the position better he will be an elite pitcher.

The athleticism, stuff and want-to are hard to find. He is still relatively new to pitching, but Nash has a really high ceiling.
