Reynolds named Tyler Rose semifinalist

Josh Reynolds leads the team with 746 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns and is tied for second on the team with 45 catches. He is the only Aggie that has at least one catch in every game this season.

TYLER, Texas – The Southeastern Conference's receiving TDs leader Josh Reynolds of Texas A&M was named a semifinalist for the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award, which is given annually to the nation's top offensive player with ties to the state of Texas.

Reynolds, a sophomore transfer Tyler Junior College by way of San Antonio Jay High School, has been a huge boon to the Texas A&M offense in his first season with the Aggies. Reynolds leads the team with 746 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns and is tied for second on the team with 45 catches. He is the only Aggie that has at least one catch in all 11 games this season.

Reynolds' 12 touchdowns lead the SEC, and nine of his receiving scores have come against SEC opponents. He has already matched the Texas A&M season receiving TDs records that originally set by Jeff Fuller in 2010 and Mike Evans in 2013. In the SEC statistics, Reynolds ranks seventh in receptions and fifth in receiving yards.

THE EARL CAMPBELL TYLER ROSE AWARD

The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award, announced in 2012 by the Tyler Chamber and SPORTyler, recognizes the top offensive player in Division 1 football who also exhibits the enduring characteristics that define Earl Campbell: integrity, performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, drive, community, and tenacity; specifically tenacity to persist and determination to overcome adversity and injury in pursuit of reaching goals.

In addition, the nominee must meet one or more of the following criteria: born in Texas and/or graduated from a Texas High School and/or played at a Texas-based junior college or four year D1 Texas college.
