
Texas A&M Finishes Second at Rain-Shorten Burns Intercollegiate

LIHUE, Hawai'i – Due to inclement weather the final round of the 38th John A. Burns Intercollegiate was cancelled Friday morning, leaving the Texas A&M men's golf team in a tie for second place at the event.
The Aggies end their run at Wailua Golf Course alongside BYU in the final standings at seven-under par and just nine shots back of team champion California (560, -16), which won the event for the fourth consecutive year. Individual medalist honors went to BYU's Justin Keiley (-10).
Junior Greg Yates (72-68=140, -4) was the highest-finishing Aggie on the leaderboard, carding his second straight top-5 finish as he tied for fourth overall.
Three more Aggies recorded top-25 placings as junior Ty Dunlap (72-70=142, -2) and sophomores Ben Crancer (72-71=143, -1) and Andrew Lister (70-74=144, E) ended the event in ties for 11th, 14th and 18th, respectively.
Texas A&M is back in action March 7-9 when it takes part in the Southern Highlands Collegiate Masters in Las Vegas, Nev.
