Sep 19, 2014 | Baseball
COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The Texas A&M Aggies unofficially begin the 2015 baseball campaign on Monday, September 22 when they commence fall practice with an afternoon session on Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park.
As has become tradition under head coach Rob Childress, the Aggies will spend the fall competing internally for the Omaha Cup, a staple of the Texas A&M baseball culture. The event features the Aggies being split into different teams and competing against one another both on-and-off the field in order to sharpen the competitive nature and chemistry of the squad. Fall practices and scrimmages will once again be open to the public in the recently renovated Blue Bell Park.
The fall sessions will commence with the five-game Maroon and White Championship Series from October 27-31.
The Aggies are coming off a 36-26 season and extended their school-record streak to eight consecutive trips to the NCAA Championship in 2014.
The first scrimmage of the fall is slated for 3 pm on Wednesday, September 24. For information on what days and times the squad will be scrimmaging, check the Aggies' twitter account at @Aggie_Baseball each morning.
