
Krajicek Wins Singles and Doubles Title at Medellin Challenger

COLLEGE STATION - Former Texas A&M men's tennis All-American Austin Krajicek completed a memorable weekend in Medellin, Columbia sweeping the singles and doubles titles at the Medellin Challenger Sunday.
In the singles bracket, Krajicek only dropped two sets through five rounds of competition capturing the title with a 7-5, 6-3 win over Joao Souza of Brazil. Krajicek defeated David Konstantinov (USA), Giovanni Lapentti (ECU), Alejandro Gonzalez (COL) and Andre Ghem (BRA) to advance to the finals.
The Bradenton, Florida native partnered with Cesar Ramirez of Mexico in doubles play in South America. The duo defeated Roberto Maytin (VEN) and Andres Molteni (ARG) 6-3, 7-5 to claim the victory. Krajicek and Ramirez did not drop a set in four rounds of action.
