The No. 5 Texas A&M women's basketball team puts a 10-game home winning streak on the line as Vanderbilt visits Reed Arena on Friday, January 2 for both teams' SEC opener.
The Aggies are 2-0 in SEC openers, having beat Alabama at home the past two seasons to kick off league play. This is the first time Texas A&M opens an SEC season with an opponent other than Alabama.
Friday's game is broadcast on SEC Network Plus, which is exclusively on WatchESPN. Fans can watch the game on their computers, tablets or mobile phones with Mike Wright and Leanne South on the call. Additionally, Gabe Bock and Bret Dark bring listeners the action on KZNE 1150 AM, and on the Radio Aggieland app.
Texas A&M is coming off a 75-38 win over North Texas on Wednesday, which tied a school record by giving A&M 12 wins in the non-conference season. The Aggies' non-conference season was highlighted by wins at then-No. 18 DePaul and at home against then-No. 8 Duke.
The Commodores are coming off a 66-62 victory against RV/24 James Madison, the team A&M knocked off in the Second Round of the 2014 NCAA Tournament.
Last season, Vanderbilt clipped Texas A&M 71-69 in Memorial Gym, using a pair of free throws with 2.2 seconds left to break a 69-69 tie.
After this game, the Aggies head to Fayetteville, Ark. to take on Arkansas on Sunday, January 4, with the broadcast on ESPNU. Texas A&M returns to Reed Arena on January 11 to host LSU at 12 p.m. on ESPNU.
