No. 10 Texas A&M Opens Season at Morgan Run

The No. 10 Texas A&M men's tennis team opened the spring season with eight victories at Morgan Run Club & Resort tennis facility in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif. The maroon and white tallied wins over representatives No. 14 Notre Dame, and No. 15 California and host No. 32 San Diego.

SAN DIEGO – The No. 10 Texas A&M men's tennis team opened the spring season with eight victories at Morgan Run Club & Resort tennis facility in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif. The maroon and white tallied wins over representatives No. 14 Notre Dame, and No. 15 California and host No. 32 San Diego.

A&M's 25th ranked doubles team of Shane Vinsant and Harrison Adams captured a pair of wins, including a 6-4 decision over No. 42 Gregory Bayane and Chas Melton of Cal. The freshman duo of AJ Catanzariti and Arthur Rinderknech claimed their first win together in the maroon and white over James Ponwith and Patrick Hall of San Diego. The Aggies 18th-ranked duo, Jordan Szabo and Jeremy Efferding, split matches on the day defeating Nicolas Montoya and Billy Pecor of Notre Dame and falling to No. 40 Andre Goransson and Oskar Wikberg of California.

In singles action, A&M claimed wins from No. 96 Jeremy Efferding, No. 53 AJ Catanzariti, Arthur Rinderknech and Jordan Szabo.

The Aggies look to continue racking up the early season victories beginning with a two rounds of singles action beginning at 12:30 p.m. (CT)

Following their trip to California the Aggies will play host to the ITA Kick-Off Weekend with a spot in the ITA National Indoor Championships on the line. A&M will host No. 32 San Diego, No. 37 TCU, and No. 45 LSU January 23-24 at the Mitchell Tennis Center.
