COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M hosts a pair of track and field meets this weekend at its Gilliam Indoor venue. Friday's meet will include a 13-team field while Saturday's meet features nine schools.
In Saturday's scored meet, starting at 2 p.m., the Aggies will face Abilene Christian, Baylor, Louisiana Tech, Stephen F. Austin, TCU, Texas – Arlington, Texas – San Antonio, and Texas State. Field events begin at noon with track prelims starting at 12:30 p.m.
Friday's scored meet, which begins at noon, includes Houston Baptist, Lamar, Louisiana – Lafayette, Louisiana – Monroe, McNeese State, North Texas, Northwestern State, Prairie View A&M, Sam Houston State, Texas A&M – Corpus Christi, Texas A&M – Kingsville, Texas – Pan American, Texas Southern.
Teams from both meets will compete in a pair of events on Friday, the distance medley relay (4:30 p.m.) and 5,000 meters (5:45 p.m.)
Texas A&M enters the meet with both squads nationally ranked among the top four teams in the preseason computer rankings from USTFCCCA. The Aggie women are No. 2 in the nation while the A&M men are No. 4.
