Aggie Golfers Tee Off Spring at Sea Best Invitational

Returning to competition following its winter break, the Texas A&M men's golf team is back in action this week at the Sea Best Invitational which takes place over two days on the Dye's Valley Course of TPC at Sawgrass.

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – Returning to competition following its winter break, the Texas A&M men's golf team is back in action this week at the Sea Best Invitational which takes place over two days on the Dye's Valley Course of TPC at Sawgrass.

“This is always an exciting time of year - it's golf season,” Texas A&M head coach J.T. Higgins said. “It is also a thrill to start off at TPC Sawgrass. The Dye Valley Course is home to the Web.com Tour Championship and is a very challenging layout. The team has really been working hard and looks forward to attacking the spring head on.”

Monday will see the 15-team field hit the course for 36 holes beginning with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. (ET). Participating in the event alongside the Aggies will be Jacksonville, Coastal Carolina, Florida, Florida State, Jacksonville State, Liberty, McNeese State, North Carolina, North Florida, Old Dominion, Tennessee, UNLV, USC Upstate and Winthrop.

The tournament concludes Tuesday with a final 18 holes that will see a team and individual champion crowned. Last season, Texas A&M was well-represented in the final results as the Aggies finished third as a team while A&M's Greg Yates finished atop the player leaderboard to claim medalist honors.

Then-sophomore Ben Crancer also carded a top-three finish at the event a year ago, finishing the tournament at two-over par to place third.

Both Yates and Crancer return to the Sunshine State this week as part of an Aggie lineup that also features junior Adrià Arnaus as well as freshmen Cameron Champ and Andrew Paysse. Additionally, junior Andrew Lister joins the A&M contingency and will compete as an individual.

The Aggies will tee off their opening round alongside golfers from Tennessee and Winthrop with live scoring and results found on GolfStat.com as well as live updates via twitter at @AggieMensGolf.
