COLLEGE STATION – Members of the No. 12 Texas A&M men's tennis team swept SEC player of the week honors, the league announced Wednesday morning. Junior Shane Vinsant was named Player of the Week while Arthur Rinderknech was tabbed as Freshman of the Week following A&M's upset of then No. 5 Ohio State Sunday afternoon.

Vinsant rallied to defeat No. 21 Chris Diaz after dropping a first set tiebreaker, winning 12 of  final 18 points. Handed Diaz his first defeat of the season as Vinsant played the No. 1 line for the first time this spring. The Keller native partnered with Harrison Adams to defeat the fifth-ranked duo of Kevin Metka and Ralf Steinbach to assist in claiming the crucial doubles point to open the match against the Buckeyes. The doubles win over the scarlet and grey duo was the A&M pair's second win over a top-five doubles team this year, defeating then-No. 2 Tim Kopinski and Ross Guignon of Illinois in the fall.

Rinderknech split tiebreakers in sets one and two against Metka to require a last match standing duel on court five. The France native traded points with Metka throughout the third set securing the point and upset victory over the Buckeyes. The clinch win was just his sixth singles match in the maroon and white, moving to 5-1 this spring.

The Aggies will continue their nine match home stand with No. 2 Oklahoma on Feb. 20 and a double header against No. 40 Tulsa and Incarnate Word on Feb. 22.
