No. 15 Women's Golf Heads To UC Irvine Invitational

SANTA ANA, Calif.- The No. 15 Texas A&M women's golf team continues their spring season this Monday, February 23 with the two-day UC Irvine Invitational at the Santa Ana Country Club, that starts with a shotgun start at 10:30 a.m. CT.

SANTA ANA, Calif.- The No. 15 Texas A&M women's golf team continues their spring season this Monday, February 23 with the two-day UC Irvine Invitational at the Santa Ana Country Club, that starts with a shotgun start at 10:30 a.m. CT.

The tournament starts with 36 holes on Monday, and finishes up with 18 holes on Tuesday to complete the three-round tournament.

The 11-years running invitational, will partner with Kia for the third consecutive year in offering a sponsor's exemption to the Kia Classic to the medalist, making it the only event of its kind. The 2015 Kia Classic will be played March 23-29 at the Aviara Golf Club.

Joining the Aggies on the par 72, 5,903-yard course are Washington, Stanford, USC, Pepperdine, UNLV, San Diego State, UC Davis, Gonzaga, SMU, Texas Tech, Long Beach State, and host-team UC Irvine.

The Aggies look to unseat the 2014 tournament champions, Stanford, who triumphed with a total of 864 of the Santa Ana CC course. A&M finished in second place, with Aggies Katerina Ruzickova, Marijosse Navarro, and Andrea Jonama finishing in the top-15.

Sophomore Bianca Fabrizio took her first career tournament win last weekend at the Florida State Match Up in Tallahassee, Fla. Sophomore Marijosse Navarro followed closely in third, finishing in the Top 10 for the fourth time this season.
