The match, originally scheduled to begin at 5 p.m., was moved to an afternoon start because of the colder temperatures predicted for Friday evening.
The match against the Gamecocks marks the Aggies' Southeastern Conference home opener. A&M is 3-3 overall and 1-1 in SEC play after opening league play last weekend with a 7-0 victory at Tennessee on Friday and a 5-2 setback at then-No. 2 Georgia on Sunday.
A&M also plays host to No. 2 Florida this weekend, taking on the Gators Sunday at 11 a.m. at the Mitchell Tennis Center. Florida has won or tied for 10 SEC regular-season championships since 2000, including four of the last five season titles.
