LAS VEGAS – Following a practice round on Sunday at the Southern Highlands Golf Club, the Texas A&M men's golf team will tee off at the Southern Highlands Collegiate Masters this week.
“The team is really excited to compete this week,” Texas A&M head coach J.T. Higgins said. “This is the biggest regular season event of the year. Southern Highlands is such a tough test of golf and the field is so strong that you have to be on top of your game, both physically and mentally, if you want to be successful.”
The competition course at the Southern Highlands Golf Club will play at 72 par and 7,510 yards this week for the 15-team field that includes tournament host UNLV.
Representing the Aggies at the tournament will be senior Greg Yates, juniors Adrià Arnaus and Andrew Lister, as well as freshmen Cameron Champ and Andrew Paysse. Junior golfer Ben Crancer will also be part of the A&M contingency and compete as an individual.
Play will begin at 10 a.m. (CT) each day with golfers teeing off from the No. 1 and No. 10 tees. During Monday's opening round, the Aggies will be paired alongside golfers from Georgia and Texas Tech.
