KANE'OHE, Hawai'i- The No. 15 Texas A&M's women's golf team sits in second at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational at the Kane'ohe Klipper Golf Course after one day and 36 holes of play.
The Aggies shot 291 (+3) and 285 (-3) in the two rounds in the first day of play to sit at 576 (E) after play concluded, ten strokes back of tournament leader Oklahoma State (566, -10).
Sophomore Marijosse Navarro shot 70-70=140 to sit at 4-under for the tournament, good for third place after two rounds of play, sitting three strokes behind tournament leader Linnea Johansson (137/-7) of Oklahoma State. Bianca Fabrizio shot 71-72=143 (-1) on the 6,009-yard / par 72 course to sit in sixth.
Freshman Maddie Szeryk shot 75-71=146 (+2) and is tied for 10th in the tournament. Andrea Jonama shot a 150 (+6) over two rounds, including an even-par 72 in the day's second round and is tied for 20th. Thanya Pattamakijsakul shot a 75-80=155 (+11) to sit in a tie for 43rd.
Competing as individuals, A&M's Callie Scheffler shot a 79-77=156 (+12) to tie for 46th and Kirby Kramer shot a 82-79=161 (+17) to tie for 60th.
