The Aggies (23-9) enter the 64-team tournament as a 6-seed in the Greensboro Regional. The Aggies open the tournament inside Wells Fargo Arena against 11-seed UALR (28-4), who won the Sun Belt Tournament.

The Aggies are one of nine schools to have qualified for at least 10 consecutive NCAA Tournaments, joining Baylor, Connecticut, DePaul, Duke, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Stanford, and Tennessee. This is A&M's 12th overall NCAA Tournament appearance.

The winner of the A&M-UALR game faces the winner between 3-seed and host No. 9 Arizona State (27-5) and 13-seed Ohio (27-4).

Texas A&M leads the all-time series with UALR 5-0, most recently topping the Trojans 83-54 on Nov. 17, 2011. The Aggies hold a 4-1 edge over hosts Arizona State all-time, but fell to ASU 89-64 in the 2009 NCAA Sweet 16. Texas A&M and Ohio have never met.

The winner of the Tempe First and Second Round Site faces the winner of the Tallahassee First and Second Round Site in the Greensboro Regional.
