No. 14 Texas A&M women's golf sits in fifth place after one day of play at the Wildcat Invitational in Tucson, Ariz. While the Aggies finished 36 holes on the day, several teams were still on the Sewailo Golf Club course when darkness hit, and those schools will conclude the second round starting at 7 a.m. MST/9 a.m. CDT Tuesday.
The Aggies shot a 295 (+7) on the day's first round and shot 290 (+2) in the second round of the tournament, sitting at 585 (+9) after 36 holes. Southern Cal leads the tournament at 26-under after almost two complete rounds, with Karen Chung leading the individual portion with a 135 (-9).
The Aggies were led by Freshman Maddie Szeryk, who shot 71 (-1) in both of her first two rounds to sit at 142 (-2) for the tournament, good for a tie for ninth place. Thanya Pattamakijsakul turned in two even-par 72 scorecards to sit at 144 (E) and in a tie for 16th place.
Andrea Jonama's day was highlighted by a 73 (+1) in her second round, and she sits with a 152 (+8) after two rounds. Bianca Fabrizio shot a 74 (+2) in the second round, and sits one stroke back of Jonama, in a tie for 60th at 153 (+9).
Callie Scheffler shot a 73 (+1) to open the tournament and now sits in a tie for 72nd at 157 (+13). Kirby Kramer, playing as an individual, is in 87th after shooting 170 (+26) on the day.
