Courtney Walker Named WBCA All-Region 3

Texas A&M junior guard Courtney Walker was named to the Women's Basketball Coaches Association All-Region 3 team today. The selection means that Walker is a nominee for the 10-member WBCA Division I Coaches' All-America Team as well.

ATLANTA- Texas A&M junior guard Courtney Walker was named to the Women's Basketball Coaches Association All-Region 3 team today. The selection means that Walker is a nominee for the 10-member WBCA Division I Coaches' All-America Team as well.

Walker averaged 14.3 points per game in 2014-15 and ranks eighth at Texas A&M with 1,398 career points. She earned First Team All-SEC honors this season, becoming the fifth Texas A&M player selected first team all-conference in back-to-back seasons. She was also named SEC Player of the Week twice this season.

The selection committee uses an equation to determine a fair number of nominees from each region. The number of Division I institutions in each region is divided by the number of Division I institutions overall to determine a percentage for each region.  This percentage is then multiplied by 52 (the total number of desired finalists) to get the number of finalists for each region.

The 2015 WBCA Division I Coaches' All-America Team will be announced at 12:10 p.m. CT Saturday, April 4, during NCAA® Women's Final Four® Super Saturday festivities in Amalie Arena.
