CARLSBAD, Calif.- Texas A&M sophomore golfer Marijosse Navarro used three birdies to shoot a 74 (+2) in the first round of the LPGA's Kia Classic at the Aviara Golf Club on Thursday.
Navarro, who teed off Hole No. 10 today, shot a 2-under 34 over the last nine holes that she played on Thursday, which is normally the front nine of the par 72 / 6,593-yard course. She hit nine of 14 fairways and reached 10 of the 18 greens in regulation. Navarro sits in a tie for 109th after one round.
Navarro will tee off in the second round off of Hole No. 1 at 2:17 p.m. CT/12:17 p.m. PT. Coverage of the event is on the Golf Channel from 5 to 8 p.m. CT.
