COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Texas A&M Aggies closed out the spring practice session with a 5-2 win over the Sam Houston State Bearkats in a 7-on-7 exhibition Tuesday evening at Ellis Field.
The Aggies owned advantages offensive stats, including 25-18 in shots, 12-8 in shots-on-goal and 5-4 in corner kicks.
Haley Pounds led the offense with two goals and one assist. Karlie Mueller chalked up a pair of goals and Mikaela Harvey tacked on one goal.
The Aggies closed out the spring with four straight wins in 7-on-7 action and ended the spring with an 8-1-1 mark in 7-on-7 and 8-on-8 play.
Texas A&M is expected to open up the 2015 season with a match against a yet-to-be-announced opponent on Friday, August 21. The squad will play an exhibition match at Ellis Field in mid-August.
