BIRIMINGHAM, Ala.- Texas A&M sophomore Marijosse Navarro was named SEC Women's Golfer of the Week on Wednesday, following a strong week for both Navarro and the Texas A&M Women's Golf program.
Navarro shot a tournament-record 66 (-6) in the third round to finish second at the Rebel Intercollegiate, which helped Texas A&M win the event with a tournament-record 858 (-6). Navarro's performance helped earn the Aggies National Team of the Week honors from Golfweek, and bumped the Aggies up to No. 13 in the Golfstat rankings.
Navarro has finished in the Top six in nine straight tournaments, including all seven she has played this year. Her stroke average of 70.95 ranks fifth in Division I, and is on pace to break her own Texas A&M single-season record (72.33 in 2013-14).
The Aggies take to the course again on April 17-19 in Hoover, Ala. for the SEC Championships.
