BRYAN, Texas- Courtney Walker was named Team MVP at the 2015 Texas A&M Women's Basketball Banquet, held at the Brazos County Expo. Student-athletes, coaches and fans gathered to celebrate the squad's 2014-15 season, which saw the Aggies post a 23-10 record and earn a spot in the NCAA Tournament for the 10th straight season.
Walker (Edmond, Okla.) was named Team MVP. Walker averaged 14.3 points in 2014-15, and received All-America honors from both the Associated Press and Women's Basketball Coaches' Association. Walker was an All-SEC First Team selection, earning that distinction in back-to-back years.
Senior forward Achiri Ade (Baltimore, Md.) earned the team's prestigious Miss Aggie Award for her contributions to the program both on and off the court. Ade averaged 6.5 points and 8.0 rebounds in 2014-15, with her year highlighted by a game-winning buzzer beater at Arkansas on Jan. 4. Ade finished her A&M career with 7.4 rebounds per game, the fifth-most in A&M history.
Junior guard Jordan Jones (DeSoto, Texas) received the team's Miss Defense Award for the second consecutive year. Jones was named SEC Defensive Player of the Year for the second straight season, and was a finalist in 2014-15 for the WBCA Division I Defensive Player of the Year Award. Offensively, Jones finished in the Top 10 nationally in assists per game for the second straight year with 6.6, and was named Second Team All-SEC.
Junior wing Courtney Williams (Houston, Texas) earned the team's Miss Offense Award, after averaging 14.8 points and ranking second during SEC play in scoring. Williams was a Second Team All-SEC selection and joined A&M's 1,000-point club during 2014-15.
Freshman center Khaalia Hillsman (Chicago, Ill.) was named Newcomer of the Year after 5.3 points and 5.0 rebounds in her first year in Aggieland. Hillsman finished the season strong for the Aggies, averaging 7.9 points and 8.5 rebounds from Feb. 8 to the close of the season.
Junior guard Chelsea Jennings (Ft. Worth, Texas) took home the Most Improved and the 6th Man Award. Jennings averaged 3.7 points and 2.3 rebounds this season, and averaged 9.0 points during the SEC Tournament. She scored 10+ points in four games during 2014-15.
Senior guard Allison Chu (Plano, Texas) received the team's Academic Award. Chu played in eight games this season, and was a member of the 2014 SEC Commissioner's Honor Roll.
Senior forward Tavarsha Scott-Williams (Ringgold, La.) earned the teams Miss Hustle Award. Scott-Williams' energy helped turn around several games for the Aggies in 2014-15, including a Jan. 11 win against LSU where she grabbed four rebounds late in the first half.
