INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.- No. 11 Texas A&M was selected to play in the NCAA Division I Women's Golf San Antonio Regional Championship, held at Briggs Ranch Golf Club and hosted by UTSA from May 7-9.

The Aggies are making their 15th straight appearance in the NCAA Women's Golf Regionals, and their 24th overall appearance in NCAA postseason play for women's golf. Texas A&M automatically qualified for postseason play after winning the SEC Championship on April 19 by 12 shots.

"We are ecstatic to be selected to the San Antonio Regional, where we are playing a fantastic golf course in Briggs Ranch, and at a location where many Aggies can come out and support us," said Texas A&M head coach Trelle McCombs. "Briggs Ranch is a golf course that plays to our strengths, and one that our team really enjoys playing."

Texas A&M heads to the par 72 / 6,428 yard Briggs Ranch Golf Club for the second time this year, having earlier shot a school-record 13-under par 275 in the final round of the Alamo Invitational in October. The Aggies finished fourth in that event.

The top six teams of the 18 selected to play in the San Antonio Regional advance to the NCAA Championships, held from May 22-27 at Concession Golf Club in Bradenton, Fla. Texas A&M finished tied for 10th in last year's NCAA Championship.

This year's NCAA Championship has a new format for women's golf, with the top 15 teams and nine individuals not on those teams after 54 holes playing a final round of stroke play on Monday. After 72 holes of competition, the top eight teams will square off in a match-play format to determine a national champion.

The final day of the stroke play competition, and all three rounds of match play are televised on the Golf Channel. The Golf Channel also plans extensive coverage and highlights of the preliminary rounds of the NCAA Women's Golf Championships on its studio shows and online at GolfChannel.com.Â
