Texas A&M All-America swimmer Emily Neubert added to her impressive list of collegiate accomplishments as one of 29 female student-athletes nationally to earn a 2014-15 winter sports NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship.

Neubert, from Midway High School in Waco, Texas, will receive a $7,500 scholarship for use in an accredited graduate program. Neubert has already earned undergraduate degrees in business honors and management information systems and is currently pursuing her master's degree in economics from Texas A&M.

Neubert's final season with the Aggies was also her finest as she earned a trip to the NCAA Championships and earned honorable mention All-America honors with the Aggies' 400-yard medley relay. Neubert also saw action at nationals in the 100- and 200-yard butterfly races and the 50 freestyle.

Also at the 2015 NCAA Championships, Neubert received the prestigious NCAA Elite 89 Award, which is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average (GPA) participating at the finals site for each of the NCAA's 89 championships. Neubert finished both undergraduate degrees with a perfect 4.0 GPA and carries a 4.0 in her pursuit of her master's in economics.

The NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship was created in 1964 to promote and encourage postgraduate education by rewarding the Association's most accomplished student-athletes through their participation in NCAA championship and/or emerging sports. Athletics and academic achievements, campus involvement, community service, volunteer activities and demonstrated leadership are evaluated.  An equitable approach is employed in reviewing an applicant's nomination form to provide all student-athlete nominees an opportunity to receive the postgraduate award, regardless of sport, division, gender or race.  In maintaining the highest broad-based standards in the selection process, the program aims to reward those individuals whose dedication and effort are reflective of those characteristics necessary to succeed and thrive through postgraduate study.
