Vida's Selected to NFCA All-Region Second Time

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Leading up to Texas A&M softball team's 26th NCAA Region appearance, freshman Tori Vidales was selected to National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-South Region second team.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Leading up to Texas A&M softball team's 26th NCAA Region appearance, freshman Tori Vidales was selected to National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-South Region second team.

Vidales is earning All-South Region honors for the first time in her young career. The freshman led the Aggies in power hitting this season with 18 home runs, adding 10 doubles, 52 RBI and a .756 slugging percentage. She ranked among the top-10 in the Southeastern Conference with 18 homeruns (T-2nd), a .756 slugging percentage (8th), 121 total bases (7th), and 45 walks (T-2nd).  

This is the third honor for Vidales in the last two weeks, after earning her first SEC Freshman of the Week award days before being named to the All-SEC second team and SEC All-Freshman team.

The Texas A&M softball team begins its hunt for the program's fourth national championship Friday when the Aggies face Lehigh in the first game of the NCAA Norman Regional. The Aggies and Mountain Hawks are set to play at 12:30 p.m. CT. Host school and No. 11 seed Oklahoma will play Central Arkansas in game two of the regional. Each game of the Norman Regional will be broadcast live from the OU Softball Complex on ESPN3.
