COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Texas A&M junior right-handed pitcher Grayson Long was named to a pair of postseason awards watch lists on Friday afternoon.
The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association named Long as one of 35 semifinalists for the Dick Howser Trophy Award. Long was also tabbed to the National College Baseball Hall of Fame's Pitcher of the Year Award watch list, which included 25 players.
On the season, Long is 9-0 with a 2.59 ERA in 14 starts. He is holding opponents to a .211 batting average and has logged 90 strikeouts in 80.0 innings of work. He ranks fourth second in the SEC in strikeouts (90) and wins (nine), fourth in ERA (2.59) and fifth in opponent batting average (.211).
In SEC action, the northpaw is 6-0 with a 2.67 ERA, .212 opponent batting average and 68 strikeouts in 57.1 innings. In league action, he ranks second in wins (6) and strikeouts (68), sixth in ERA (2.67) and seventh in opponent batting average (.212).
