COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Texas A&M Aggies revealed the 19-game slate the squad will face as they look to return to the College Cup in 2015.
Â
The two-time defending SEC Tournament and regular-season champions have set a course that includes 10 matches on the friendly pitch of Ellis Field.
The 2015 campaign will include four teams who finished ranked in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Top 25, including Florida State (1), Florida (7), South Carolina (9) and Kentucky (17). It also includes non-conference tilts against two conference champions, including defending national champion Florida State from the ACC and Conference USA champion North Texas.
Â
League play begins with a bang as the Maroon and White open up at Florida on September 10. The teams have wrangled over the conference regular-season title the last three seasons, with Florida edging A&M in 2012, the teams sharing the crown in 2013 and the Aggies getting the upper hand in 2014. The two teams also account for all three of the most recent SEC Tournament championships, with Florida winning the crown in 2012 and Texas A&M winning titles in 2013 and 2014.
Â
Other conference road tests include matches at South Carolina (9/24), Georgia (9/27), Auburn (10/11), Kentucky (10/16) and the regular-season finale at Missouri (10/29).
Â
Texas A&M opens up the home portion of the league schedule against Vanderbilt on September 18. They also have SEC home matches against Mississippi State (10/2), Alabama (10/19), Arkansas (10/23) and Ole Miss (10/25).
Â
This year the Aggies' SEC rotation does not include matches against LSU or Tennessee.
Â
The Aggies will host five regular-season non-conference matches at Ellis Field. The Maroon and White open home play on August 23 with a match against Northwestern State. They close out August with contests against UC Irvine (8/28) and Florida Atlantic (8/30). They host a pair of Sunday evening matches in September, including Abilene Christian (9/6) and North Texas (9/20).
All three of the Aggies' non-conference road games will be against 2014 NCAA Tournament participants. Texas A&M opens the season at Rice (8/21). They are also scheduled to play games at Florida State (9/4) and Dayton (9/13).
Â
Television dates will be announced in the near future. All Texas A&M home matches will be available digitally on mobile devices and connected-televisions on SEC Network+ or ESPN3 via the WatchESPN app.
The season will unofficially open on August 15 when the Aggies host Tulsa in a 7 pm exhibition at Ellis Field.
