COLLEGE STATION, Texas—The Texas A&M athletics program and the 12th Man are currently in 18th place in the third spring standings of the 2014-15 Division I Learfield Sports Directors' Cup rankings.

The Aggies have finished in the Top 10 the past five years in the final year-end rankings. (6th in 2009-10, 8th in 2010-11, 9th in 2011-12, 5th in 2012-13, 10th in 2013-14)

The third spring rankings include points for men's and women's outdoor track and field to go along with men's and women's golf, women's rowing, softball, men's and women's lacrosse, men's and women's tennis, men's volleyball and women's water polo.

Coach Pat Henry and the women's track and field team led the way with 85 points from a third place finish at the recent NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. It marked the ninth straight year for the Aggies to finish in the top four in the country.

The men's track and field team finished in sixth place scoring 73.5 points for the Aggies. This marks the eighth straight season to finish in the Top 6 for the men's track and field squad.

Coach Jo Evans and the softball team reached the NCAA Regional championship to claim a 17th place finish and score 50 points for the school.
Â
Coach Trelle McCombs and the women's golf team reached the NCAA Championships and finished 18th to score 56 points. The women's golf team was one of five SEC Champions for Texas A&M this past year.

Coach Steve Denton and the Texas A&M men's tennis squad reached the Elite 8 at the NCAA Championships earning 73 points while head coach Howard Joffe and the women's tennis team reached the NCAA Championships Sweet 16 and scored 64 points.

Coach Rob Childress and the Aggie baseball team reached the NCAA Super Regionals and will finish 9th.
Â
The Aggie fall sports posted 153 points and added to the winter total of 274.25 provided the total of 427.25 points in the standings heading into the spring season.
Â
The final rankings will be released either June 25 or 26 when the College World Series is complete.
Â
The Learfield Sports Directors' Cup takes into consideration the top 10 female sports and the top 10 male sports at each institution. In Texas A&M's case, the school sponsors 20 intercollegiate sports, 11 female and nine male.
