COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Sophomore pitcher Trinity Harrington will join the Texas A&M softball team this fall after transferring from Colorado State, head coach Jo Evans announced today.
The Gilcrest, Colo., native will be eligible immediately this fall after spending her freshman season as a member of the Colorado State softball team.
"I am excited to welcome Trinity to our program," said head coach Jo Evans. "She already has a year of Division I softball experience under her belt, so we expect her to make an immediate impact on the mound for us. She is a dropball pitcher with good velocity, so she will complement our other pitchers very well."
Harrington is a 2014 graduate of Valley High School, where she was a four-time letterwinner and earned all-state honors three times. She helped VHS win two state titles and two Patriot League championships. The right-handed pitcher drew 15 starts in the circle for the Rams and made 26 appearances throughout her rookie season, recording a 5-6 record with one save, four shutouts and a 3.10 ERA. Her complete-game, 6-0 shutout of Northern Colorado earned the freshman Mountain West Pitcher of the Week honors in March.
"Softball has taken me many fabulous places and I have met some amazing people," said Harrington. "One person I have always wanted to meet was Coach Jo Evans. I love watching her on TV, coaching and interacting with her players. I'm honored and blessed to get to come to Texas A&M and play for such an awesome coach. Then you add on this wonderful university with such great traditions, it's more of a school that I could think of pitching softball at. The best part of this wonderful dream is I will be pitching in the SEC. Hard work and faith have brought me to this place and I am thrilled!"
Harrington and the Aggie softball team will begin preparation for the 2016 season this fall with a series exhibition games and the annual Maroon & White Series. To learn more about Texas A&M softball, log on to 12thMan.com and follow @AggieSoftball on Twitter.
