COLLEGE STATION—A total of 33 Aggie football players are in the various NFL training camps battling for roster spots as the football season draws near.
The longest tenured Aggie in the league is All-Pro punter Shane Lechler with the Houston Texans. Lechler begins his 16th season in the NFL after being a fifth-round selection in the 2000 NFL draft.
A free agent deep snapper, Don Muhlbach, begins his 12th season snapping in the NFL with the Detroit Lions.
The Houston Texans and the Seattle Seahawks each have four Aggies on the current rosters.
For the fifth straight year, the Aggies had a first-round NFL draft pick and for the third straight year it was an offensive lineman as Cedric Ogbuehi was selected 21st overall by the Cincinnati Bengals.
From the 2014 Aggie team, Jarvis Harrison was a fifth-round pick of the New York Jets and free agent signees in training camps include: tight end Cameron Clear with the Pittsburgh Steelers; defensive back Deshazor Everett with the Washington Redskins; wide receiver Malcome Kennedy with the New Orleans Saints; placekicker Josh Lambo with the San Diego Chargers; defensive back Floyd Raven, Sr. with the Cincinnati Bengals; and running back Trey Williams with the Washington Redskins.
