COLLEGE STATION, Texas—Summer commencement exercises are scheduled at Reed Arena on the Texas A&M University campus on Friday, Aug. 14 at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. A total of 16 Aggie student-athletes are slated to participate in graduation ceremonies.
Â
The 16 August student-athletes join the 27 student-athletes from December and the 65 student-athletes who graduated in May for a total of 108 student-athletes who graduated in the 2014-15 academic year.
Â
"I am extremely proud of these young people for taking advantage of an opportunity to continue to play a sport they love, while also earning a degree from our world-class university," Director of Athletics Eric Hyman said. "These student-athletes have put in a lot of time, effort and dedication to reach this goal, and everyone who has supported them throughout their lives is to be congratulated as well."
Â
"Many of these student-athletes have not only excelled in competition and in the classrooms, but also through their community outreach efforts," Hyman explained. "They are excellent role models and outstanding representatives of Texas A&M and Aggies everywhere."
Â
"As a whole, our student-athletes in the spring had a combined grade-point average of 2.925," Hyman stated. "We had 44 young people earn a perfect 4.0 and a total of 287 student-athletes earn a 3.0 or better this spring."

The Aggie women's swimming and diving team also placed fourth at the NCAA Championships while garnering College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-American team.
Â
