Texas A&M women's golf announced its 2015-16 schedule on Friday, highlighted by two events at Traditions Club in Bryan. The Aggies host Texas in a dual match on Sept. 6, and the NCAA College Station Regional on May 5-7. Should the Aggies qualify for the NCAA Tournament for the 16th consecutive year, they are guaranteed to be placed in the College Station Regional.
The Aggies, who won the 2015 SEC Championship, start the season on Sunday, Sept. 6 to host Texas in a one-day dual match at Traditions Club in Bryan. The Aggies and Longhorns have met in four tournaments since 2013-14, with A&M owning a 4-0 record head-to-head in those competitions in that time frame.
The Aggies' fall schedule includes several regional events with strong fields, including the Schooner Fall Classic (Belmar Golf Club/Norman, Okla.) on Sept. 19-21, the Jim West Challenge at Tapatio Springs (Tapatio Springs Resort/Boerne, Texas), where the Aggies look to defend their 2014 team title in the event on Oct. 4-6, and the Alamo Invitational (Briggs Ranch Golf Club/San Antonio, Texas) on Oct. 25-27, where the Aggies shot a school-record -13 in the final round in 2014.
The fall schedule is rounded out by the Annika Intercollegiate presented by 3M, which takes place on the Watson Course at the Reunion Resort in Orlando, Florida. The prestigious event includes defending National Champion Stanford, and three of the four national semifinalists (Duke, Stanford, Southern Cal). Of the 12 teams in the event, 11 advanced to the NCAA Championship in 2015, and all 11 who advanced finished in the Top 18 of the event.
The spring schedule includes a return trip to the Florida State Match-Up (Southwood Golf Course/Tallahassee, Fla.), where Bianca Fabrizio will look to defend her individual medalist honors from that event from Feb. 12-14. The spring continues with appearances in the 3M Augusta Invitational (Forest Hills Golf Club/Augusta, Ga.) from Mar. 11-13, the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational (Kane'ohe Klipper Golf Course/Kane'ohe, Hawai'i) on Mar. 22-23 and the Clemson Invitational (The Reserve at Lake Keowee/Sunset, S.C.) on April 1-3.
The Aggies will look to defend their SEC Championship, and their tournament-record 13-under par score on April 15-17 at the Greystone Golf and Country Club in Hoover, Alabama. If qualified for NCAA postseason play for the 16th consecutive season, the Aggies will then participate in the NCAA College Station Regional on May 5-7 at Traditions Club in Bryan. The top six teams in that event head to the Eugene (Ore.) Country Club for the NCAA Championships, which will finish in a match play format for the second consecutive year.
