COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Texas A&M volleyball team invites fans to attend its annual Maroon and White scrimmage, Monday, August 24 at Reed Arena.
Â
Admission is free, and free parking will be available in Lot 100G. Fans should enter Reed through the main entrance (facing Olsen Blvd.).
Â
Doors open at 3:45 p.m., and the Aggies will take the main court at 4 p.m. to participate in offensive and defensive warm-up drills. Head coach Laurie Corbelli will address the crowd and provide commentary during the approximate 20-minute warm-up. At the conclusion of the drills, the team will be introduced, and then the players will divide into teams and play two 25-point sets.
Â
The team will hold a meet-and-greet autograph session on the court immediately following the scrimmage, and autograph cards will be provided. Â In addition, Aggie Yell Leaders will be in attendance, and also 12th Man and Junior Aggie Club tables will be set up on the concourse.
Â
Aggie head coach Laurie Corbelli returns 11 letterwinners -- including nine with starting experience – and a redshirt player from last year's team that tied for fourth in the Southeastern Conference with a 13-5 league record and finished 21-9 overall and No. 22 in the final national ratings percentage index (RPI) after advancing to the first round of the NCAA tournament.
Â
Corbelli, who is entering her 23rd season at the helm of the Aggies and the 30th year of her head coaching career also welcomes the addition of four freshmen who will be donning the maroon and white for the first time at Reed Arena.
Â
A&M, one of only 14 teams in the nation that has made at least 18 NCAA tournament appearances since Corbelli was hired in 1993, officially opens the season August 28 at No. 2 Stanford. The Aggies also take on Minnesota in Palo Alto, Calif., before making their home season debut against Wichita State on Saturday, Sept. 5 at the Texas A&M Invitational at Reed Arena.
Â
Season tickets and individual match tickets are on sale and available for purchase online at 12thManFoundation.com or during business hours at the Reed Arena box office. Season ticket prices begin at $65 for 13 home matches and also are good for the non-A&M matches to be played during the Texas A&M Invitational, Sept. 4-6. Individual match tickets are $9 for a reserve seat, $7 for adult general admission and $4 for youth high school and under as well as Texas A&M students without a sports pass.
