VANCOUVER, B.C.- Texas A&M sophomore golfer Maddie Szeryk posted three birdies and an eagle on Friday at the LPGA's Canadian Pacific Women's Open, shooting a 74 at the Vancouver Golf Club.
Szeryk posted a 75-74 (+5) in the event, the best score out of any amateur to tee it up at Canada's national championship for women's golf.
Szeryk birdied the 3rd, 4th and 10th holes of the par 72/6,656 yard course, and dropped in an eagle at the par 5 13th.
Szeryk was an All-American for Texas A&M in 2014-15, helping the Aggies win the 2015 SEC Championship with an individual runner-up performance. Szeryk was the SEC Freshman of the Year.
The Aggies' 2015-16 season starts on Sept. 6 with a dual match against Texas at Traditions Club in Bryan.
