Texas A&M's women's golf team tees off the 2015-16 season by hosting a dual match with Texas on Sunday, September 6 at Traditions Club in Bryan. The event will feature two rounds of competition—a morning "best ball" session and an afternoon match-play session. Admission to the event is free.
The morning session begins at 8:30 a.m., with the first of three "best ball" matches between A&M and Texas. Two players from each school will be in each foursome, and the school with the best score on the hole wins the hole. The school that wins the most holes wins the match.
Following the morning sessions and a break for lunch, the afternoon sessions will commence with six match-play competitions between the Longhorns and Aggies. The matches will be played to the complete 18 holes, regardless of whether the match is still in question.
The school that wins the majority of the nine matches will be determined the winner of the event.
The Aggies return the individual champion and the runner-up from the 2015 SEC Championship, with Bianca Fabrizio and Maddie Szeryk leading the way for the defending SEC Champions. Texas A&M set single-season team records in stroke average, birdies, and par or better rounds in 2014-15.
