COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Texas A&M broke into the American Volleyball Coaches Association's Top 25 Poll today, coming in at No. 25 following a weekend in which the Aggies went 3-0 to win their own Texas A&M Invitational at Reed Arena.

The Aggies (4-1) previously were receiving votes and were listed 30th in the preseason poll and 27th in the first regular-season poll released last week. The No. 25 ranking marks A&M's first appearance in the Top 25 since a No. 23 showing on Oct. 27, 2014.

A&M made its home debut on Saturday with a convincing 3-0 victory over Wichita State, which also was receiving votes and was listed 38th in last week's poll. The Aggies also defeated both Abilene Christian and New Mexico State to capture the tournament title and extend their win streak to four matches.

Penn State remained No. 1, receiving 63 of 64 first-place votes. Defending Southeastern Conference champion Florida jumped from a tie for fourth to No. 2 following the Gators' 3-1 victory at previously No. 3 Texas, and Stanford, which defeated A&M in its season opener, dropped one spot to No. 3. Texas and Nebraska round out the top five.

Kentucky also represents the SEC in the poll at No. 21.

Next up for A&M is the Iowa Comfort Suites Challenge Friday and Saturday at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City, Iowa. The Aggies open the tournament Friday at 1:30 p.m. against former Big 12 Conference-foe Iowa State, which was No. 21 in the preseason poll but has since dropped out. A&M also plays Milwaukee on Friday at 6 p.m. and closes out the tournament Saturday at 7 p.m. against the host Hawkeyes.

The Aggies then return home Tuesday, Sept. 15 to host No. 14 Colorado State at Reed Arena.
