WACO, Texas – The National Collegiate Equestrian Association this week announced its 2015-16 preseason rankings, as determined by the NCEA Selection Committee.

Texas A&M enters the season at No. 7 in the national poll. The Aggies finished the 2014-15 season with an overall record of 8-7 and 3-3 in SEC competitions and a final ranking of No. 4 in the poll. Texas A&M hosted the SEC Championships in April and finished second in conference action and reached the NCEA National Quarterfinals in Waco.

Georgia, the 2015 NCEA runner-up and defending Southeastern Conference Champion, is the nation's No. 1 team in the preseason. South Carolina, the 2015 NCEA National Champion, checks in at No. 2. The Gamecocks claimed their third overall national title this past April.

Baylor – the defending Big 12 Champion - and Auburn, both national semifinalists a year ago, are ranked No. 3 and No. 4, respectively, while United Equestrian Conference Champion Fresno State checks in at No. 5.

Oklahoma State is ranked No. 6, while Texas A&M is No. 7. TCU (No. 8), SMU (No. 9) and New Mexico State (No. 10) round out the preseason top-10.

The 2016 NCEA Championship will take place April 14-16 at the Extraco Events Center in Waco, Texas.

The Aggies open the fall season this Friday, Sept. 18 with a Maroon & White Exhibition scheduled for 10 a.m. at the Hildebrand Equine Complex. The first regular season competition is the following week and will also mark the first SEC foray against defending SEC Champion Georgia on Friday, Sept. 25. The Bulldogs are the preseason No. 1 team in the land.
