ORLANDO, Fla.- The No. 11 Texas A&M women's golf team fired a 278, finishing 10-under par for the second consecutive round, and sits in third place after the first round of the Annika Intercollegiate on Sunday.

"I am proud of how the team played today," said Texas A&M head coach Trelle McCombs. "They did a great job of sticking to the game plan. We are looking forward to playing with Duke and Southern Cal tomorrow."

The Aggies are two shots behind tournament leaders No. 3 Southern Cal and one shot behind second place No. 2 Duke. The Aggies shot a 10-under par in the final round of the Schooner Fall Classic on Monday before matching that score on the Reunion Resort's Watson Course, both of which tie for the third-lowest round in school history. The current junior class has been involved in all the top single team rounds in school history.

Defending SEC Champion Bianca Fabrizio fired a 4-under 68 on the par 72 / 6,245 yard course to tie for fourth after one round, sitting three shots back of South Carolina's Katelyn Dambaugh for the tournament lead. Andrea Jonama is one shot behind Fabrizio with a 3-under 69, and is in a tie for eighth.

Maddie Szeryk is in a tie for 15th after shooting a 2-under 70. Callie Scheffler shot a collegiate career-best with a 1-under 71 and sits in a tie for 20th. Thanya Pattamakijsakul shot a 4-over 75 and is tied for 47th.

The Annika Intercollegiate features a top field, but the Aggies lead defending national champion and No. 2-ranked Stanford, No. 4 Arkansas, No. 5 UCLA, No. 6 Arizona, No. 10 South Carolina, No. 15 Tennessee, No. 16 LSU and No. 30 Washington after a round.

The Aggies tee off for the second of three rounds at 7:50 a.m. CT Monday.
