Softball to Play Seven Games on National TV
Jan 14, 2015 | Softball
The Texas A&M softball teams will play at least seven Southeastern Conference games on national television, the conference office announced on Wednesday. ESPN's SEC Network will swing into its inaugural softball season with more than 50 games slated for the new network and a total of 76 across ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU and SEC Network.
Of the Aggies' seven television contests, five will be played at the Aggie Softball Complex. The Aggies will face Auburn on Saturday, April 11, at 2 p.m. on ESPNU. They will also square off against South Carolina the weekend of March 21-22, at LSU on April 19-20 and return home to take on the Ole Miss revels on May 3, all on the SEC Network.
Texas A&M will make its 2015 national television debut against Kentucky, when the Wildcats come to town on Sunday, March 8. The Aggies will take on Kentucky in a 2 p.m. start.
At the conclusion of the regular season, the entire SEC Softball Tournament will be televised across ESPN networks. The First Round and Quarterfinals will be carried on SEC Network, Semifinals on ESPNU and the Championship Game on ESPN2. The additional games will increase SEC softball's television coverage to a historic high, with three times more nationally televised matchups than in previous years.
