
Men Rally to Take Down LSU in Baton Rouge, 67-64

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) -- Danuel House scored four of his 18 points in the final 23 seconds, and Texas A&M erased a 13-point second-half deficit for its first road victory this season, 67-64 over LSU on Saturday.
Jalen Jones had 18 points and nine rebounds for the Aggies (11-5, 2-2 Southeastern Conference), who held LSU to two points over the final 4:26 and took their first lead of the second half on House's jumper from the top of the key in the last half-minute.
Jordan Mickey had 17 points, eight rebounds and seven blocked shots for LSU (13-4, 2-2), but he fell to the ground after grabbing his last rebound on the defensive end with under 30 seconds left and was called for traveling, giving A&M another chance to set up House's go-ahead shot.
Jalyn Patterson added 13 points and Jarell Martin 12 for the Tigers.
TEAM RECORDS & SERIES NOTES
● Texas A&M improved to 11-5 on the season and evened its mark in SEC play to 2-2 following with a 67-64 win at LSU on Saturday afternoon … The Tigers, who entered the contest 9-0 at home, dropped to 13-4 overall and 2-2 in league action with the loss.
● The victory was the first by the Aggies in Baton Rouge since Dec. 14, 1941, snapping a nine-game Tiger home winning streak in the series … overall, LSU owns a 17-13 advantage in the all-time series.
TEAM NOTES
● With the Aggies trailing 64-63, junior Danuel House scored the game's final four points, hitting a jumper at the top of the key with 23 seconds left and making two free throws with just eight seconds remaining to secure the A&M win.
● Texas A&M trailed by as many as 13 in the second half, matching the Aggies' biggest come-from-behind win of the season (A&M also trailed by 13 in a 72-71 win over Arizona State on Dec.).
● Following an LSU jumper at the 4:37 mark of the second half, the Aggie defense limited the Tigers to just two points the rest of the way.
● At the free throw line, Texas A&M 9-of-11 for the game (81.8 percent).
● The Aggies started the contest on a 9-2 run, with five quick points from House … A&M made four of its first five shot attempts from the field before misfiring on its next five tries, allowing LSU to take its first lead of the day.
● A Tiger 3-pointer at the buzzer sent LSU to the lockerroom with a 40-32 lead.
● Texas A&M used the starting line-up combination of Alex Caruso, Jordan Green, Danuel House, Jalen Jones and Kourtney Roberson for the eighth time this season (6-2).
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
● Junior forward Jalen Jones scored 18 points on the afternoon to reach double-digit points for the 11th time in 14 games played this season.
● Junior guard Danuel House also reached double digits by notching a total of 18 points against the Tigers … the Fresno, Texas, native is averaging 20.7 points during his last three contests.
● Freshman point guard Alex Robinson provided a big spark for the Aggies off the bench, contributing a game-high six assists to go along with six points and six rebounds in 24 minutes of action.
● A&M head coach Billy Kennedy is now 61-54 in his fourth season at Texas A&M and 272-233 in 17 years as a head coach.

● The Aggies return home to College Station for their next contest, which will take place on Jan. 21 when they host Missouri in a 6 p.m. contest inside Reed Arena ... The game will see Texas A&M attempt to avenge a pair of losses to the Tigers last season, including a 91-83 double-overtime thriller that ended the Aggies' run at the 2014 SEC Tournament.
