TULSA, Oklahoma – Jordi Arconada and Kevin Lam of the Texas A&M men's tennis team advanced to the second round of the pre-qualifying draw Saturday afternoon at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Sophomore Jordi Arconada advanced to the Round of 128 with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Alex Lawson of Notre Dame. The Puerto Rico native will face Anthony Delcore of Wake Forest Sunday morning, the winner will take on the winner of Bo Boyden (UNC) and Conner Huertas (Auburn) for a place in the Qualifying Draw.
Freshman Kevin Lam joined Arconada in Sunday's Round of 128 after dispatching of Sergio de Vilchez (Wichita State) 6-2, 6-4 Saturday afternoon. Lam, an Irvine, California native, will take on Calum MacGeoch of Drake Sunday morning. The winner will take on the winner of Gustaz Hansson (Ole Miss) and Milen Ianakiev (SDSU) Sunday afternoon.
The Pre-Qualifying Draw is set to conclude Sunday afternoon as winners will advance to the Qualifying Draw beginning on Monday. A season ago, then-freshman AJ Catanzariti stormed through both pre-qualifying and qualifying to advance to the Main Draw en route to an impressive freshman campaign.
