COLLEGE STATION, Texas – With hoops season right around the corner, the Texas A&M men's and women's basketball teams will host Plaza Palooza on Friday, Oct. 16, from 10-11:30 p.m. on the northeast plaza outside Kyle Field.

The event will feature a variety of promotions aimed at getting fans of all ages excited for the upcoming season on the hardwood as well as give fans a chance to interact with players and coaches from both squads.

Additionally, the event will feature free food including pepperoni rolls, cotton candy and popcorn as well as 12th Man towel giveaways. A performance by Texas A&M Rapping Professor Reginald Stuckey and live music will also highlight the festivities.

A basketball hoop will be set up on the plaza for fans to participate in shooting contests as well as other activities.

Following the conclusion of Plaza Palooza, both the men's and women's teams will be introduced in front of the 12th Man at Midnight Yell Practice.

The Texas A&M women's team will host Texas Wesleyan in an exhibition contest at home on Nov. 1 before opening the season at home against Texas State on Nov. 13.

Meanwhile, the Aggie men will get their final tune-up for the regular season Nov. 6 when they host Texas A&M-International in an exhibition tilt. The 2014-15 campaign officially gets underway Nov. 13 when Texas A&M welcomes USC Upstate to Reed Arena.
