COLLEGE STATION- Texas A&M's women's basketball team hosts its annual Maroon & White Scrimmage at 6 p.m. Friday at Reed Arena. The event features many fan-friendly events, in addition to providing a first look at the 2015-16 squad. Admission is free, with doors opening at 5 p.m.
The event is scheduled for four 10-minute periods of scrimmages, mirroring the format change to NCAA women's basketball games this season. At the conclusion of the scrimmage, fans will be invited onto the court for autographs and photos with the team.
Children in attendance can be a part of the creation of the Junior Aggie Club Fall Festival mural that will be displayed at Sunday's Junior Aggie Club soccer game at Ellis Field, and partake in other arts and crafts on the concourse.
In addition, all fans can enter to win free prizes such as adidas Texas A&M gear, a Gary Blair autographed basketball, and gift cards from Rudy's and McAllister's.
Leading up to the game, 10 students will be selected to take a behind-the-scenes look at Texas A&M's women's basketball program. The behind-the-scenes experience includes a tour of the facility, an official adidas gear pack, floor seats, and an opportunity for two students to watch on the bench as a guest coach. Students can enter to win this experience by retweeting certain posts by @AggieWBB on twitter.
The Aggies return two All-Americans for the first time in school history in 2015-16, and is coming off of its 10th straight NCAA Tournament appearance in 2014-15.
Season tickets are still available through the 12th Man Foundation, and start at $100. Fans can order tickets here: http://www.12thmanfoundation.com/ticket-center/women%27s-basketball.aspx .
