COLLEGE STATION- Freshman Danni Williams scored 19 points to lead all Aggies in the women's basketball team's annual Maroon & White Scrimmage. A total of seven Aggies scored in double figures in the event.
Seniors Chelsea Jennings and Courtney Walker added 14 points apiece, while Courtney Williams had 12.
Sophomore transfer Jasmine Lumpkin added 10 points and 12 rebounds, and Jordan Jones, playing in front of a Reed Arena crowd for the first time since her injury last February, scored 10 points and added five assists.
Walk-on Darienne Serna had 11 points during the event as well.
Rachel Mitchell was the Aggies' leading rebounder with 13 rebounds and picked up six blocks. Khaalia Hillsman reached double figures with 11 rebounds.
The Maroon team won the first of four separate sessions, defeating White 21-10. Chelsea Jennings had eight of Maroon's 21 points, as the team capped off the session with a buzzer-beating 3-pointer by Courtney Williams.
White came back in the second period, as Serna went 3-of-3 from the 3-point line for the White team for a 25-20 victory.
Maroon took the third quarter with a 21-14 score, but Danni Williams had 10 of her 19 points for the White team in that session. The Maroon team, consisting of the varsity, downed the men's practice team, representing the White team, 9-8 in the fourth period, with Hillsman hitting a go-ahead shot for the varsity with just over a minute to go.
The Aggies return to action with an exhibition against Texas Wesleyan on November 1 at 2 p.m. inside Reed Arena. The game is broadcast on SEC Network +.
