Five Aggies Honored by SEC Coaches

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Texas A&M Aggies had five players recognized on Sunday as the SEC released their soccer award winners as named by the league's coaches.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Texas A&M Aggies had five players recognized on Sunday as the SEC released their soccer award winners as named by the league's coaches.
 
Texas A&M had three players named to the All-SEC squads. Mikaela Harvey was named an All-SEC First Team midfielder, Haley Pounds was tabbed an All-SEC Second Team forward and Karlie Mueller was termed an All-SEC Second Team defender.
 
The Aggies also had two players named to the SEC All-Freshman Team with midfielder Emily Bates and forward Ally Watt receiving the accolades.
 
Harvey ranks second on the team with six goals, including two game-winning goals, and third with 14 points. Harvey is one of five Aggies to start all 19 matches on the season.
 
Pounds ranks fifth in the SEC with 11 goals and sixth in the league with 26 points. She has added four assists on the year. The Spring, Texas native scored five of her goals in league action to tie for fifth place. Pounds is one of five Aggies to start all 19 matches on the season.
 
Mueller has started 18 matches on the season, logging seven points on one goal and a team-high five assists. She ranks 15th among active NCAA Division I players in career matches played with 86 caps.
 
Bates ranks second on the team in scoring with 15 points on a team-high five assists and five goals. She ranks seventh in the league in assists per game (0.33). Bates has played in 15 matches on the year, including 14 starts.
 
Watt has logged five goals on the season, including scoring the Aggies' lone goals in a 1-0 win over Kentucky and a 1-1 draw against Missouri. All five of her goals have come in league action to tie for fifth. Watt is one of eight Aggies to play in all 19 matches on the season, logging 10 starts.
 
Texas A&M finished the regular-season with a 13-5-1 regular-season mark and a 6-4-1 league ledger. The Aggies return to action on Wednesday when they battle the Ole Miss Rebels in SEC Tournament quarterfinal action at 2:30 pm at Orange Beach (Alabama) Sportsplex.
